Both reach this decision during the official familiarisation tour of the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy on Monday 28th October 2019.
The Commissioner; Dr. Amidu Tadese who maintained that the upliftment of the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola was germane stated that he was going to co-operate with the Special Adviser to the Governor to bring about a turn around to the operations of the Water Resources and Energy Ministry in line with the vision of the state government and in conformity with the civil service rules.
He called on the staff of the ministry to join hands with him and his colleague in actualising the dreams of the Gboyega Oyetola administration in the water resources and energy sector of the state.
During the tour which took the political appointees and other top management staff to all the departments and agencies in the Ministry, the Special Adviser; Engr. Ibitoye Felix revealed that they were resolved to engage the staff of the ministry in trainings, seminars and workshops to enhance capacity in order tackle the challenges ahead.
He charged the staff members to take their duties seriously and also to maintain a clean environment at all times adding that such will enhance a conducive environment for prompt service delivery and efficiency.
They both hinted that the departments especially the Accounts and Finance Department would be revamped because its services is strategic to the overall performance of the ministry.
The need for the revamping according to them is that the ministry must be generating revenue which will assist the governor and the government in developing the state.
The tour which was conducted by Engr. Isaac Babalola; Co-ordinating Director, Ministry of Water Resources and Energy; took both cabinet members to the Departments of Finance and Accounts, Records, Adminstration and Supply, Water Resources, Community Development and Planning, Research and Statistics, Osun State Water Corporation and the European Union Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Reform Programme (EU-WSSSRP).
Also, as part of the familiarisation tour were Engr. Wale Emmanuel Alonge; Vice Chairman, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Osogbo Branch and the General Secretary; Engr. Adeyinka Abiodun Atoyebi.
Earlier, members of staff of the ministry had welcomed the Honourable Commissioner and Special Adviser to the Governor on Water Resources and Energy with prayers from both the Christian and Islamic religions.
