PDP has Lost Its Credibility--Aspirant

Mr Kingsley Okoronkwo, an aspirant for the post of National Youth Leader, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has promised to work towards restoring the confidence of Nigerians in the party, if elected.

Okoronkwo, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja, said that the position had been zoned to the South East.

He said that the PDP would regain its position as the biggest party in Africa, if he was given the opportunity to lead the youth wing of the party.

The aspirant said he had addressed the stakeholders at the 2017 Elective Convention of the PDP South-East National Youth Coalition Leadership and National Conference on Friday.

“After considering my immense contributions over the years, especially concerning youth development in our great party and Nigeria at large, I am hopeful for better days ahead.

“I am confident that I will emerge the winner by God’s grace. However, since no man is an Island, I need the support of my well-wishers to help me actualise this dream.

“I promise fellow democrats, that I will work towards the restoration of the people’s confidence in our party.

“Our process of choosing our candidates must once again be subjected to internal democracy, to the dictates of our party constitution and the existing rules.’’

Okoronkwo, who hails from Abia State, said that the South-East believed in the unity of Nigeria and true federalism, which would provide equal opportunities for all regions based on peculiar comparative advantage.

He said having embraced inter-tribal marriage and being able to speak many Nigerian languages, coupled with his commitment, vision and integrity, he remained the most competent candidate for the post.
